If the last few months of news coverage hasn’t made people across thecountry question our dependence on oil, what will? 

In the midst of disaster, the Senate announced last week it will not take up a comprehensive clean energy and climate bill before the August recess. So we're asking you to join thousands of religious leaders and people of faith across the country in taking a stand as a Climate Convert during ourvisibility weekend — August 6 - 8.

As we prepare for our visibility weekend, send a message to your senators telling them that you’ve had enough — oil disasters and mining tragedies should be our wake up call to convert to a clean energy future.

• Spread the word in your congregation and community about the weekend of visibility during the congressional recess in August. Use our simple form or get the word out on Facebook and Twitter.


• Speak out as a Climate Convert. If you’re tired of the environmental destruction when there are alternatives that won’t destroy God’s creation, people’s homes, and ways of life, then take a stand. Whether you’ve been fighting this battle for days or decades, sign the Climate Convert pledge and my friends at Interfaith Power & Light will deliver the signatures to President Obama.


• Support congregations in Asia and Africa that are fighting deforestation and global warming with a gift. 100% of your gift will support their efforts to plant trees, raise awareness about energy conservation and stewardship, and develop economically viable and sustainable ways to support their communities.
